Sergei Naryshkin: Russia needs to enhance cooperation in EAEU, SCO and BRICS

Russia needs to expand interparliamentary ties within the EAEU, SCO and BRICS to strengthen economic cooperation, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergei Naryshkin said at the opening of the parliament's 2015 spring session.

The current economic situation is complicated, considering the fundamental development problems in the Russian and global economy, the official said, adding that the anti-Russian sanctions impede the resolution of the existing problems, preventing countries from pooling their efforts to address common threats, something our foreign partners can see, too.

Therefore, it is important for Russia to strengthen cooperation within the EAEU, SCO and BRICS. "I hope that interparliamentary ties will enhance political understanding as well as economic development of our countries," he said.
